Here images of three different 2 Dollar 2016 from Canada:

- proof in base metals

- specimen with a polar bear on the reverse
Earlier we’ve seen a 2016 proof toony in platinum.  Weight: 1 troy ounce (31.1 g).  Mintage: 150 pieces.  A very expensive coin and only obtainable as part of a set.
Two more 2016 toonies can be collected (in all likelihood):
a specimen coin with young animal(s) on the reverse (not issued yet) the toony for circulation (with holograms).
Note that the coins struck for collectors (and not for circulation) are of the old type (without the holograms).

5. Bi-metallic 2 Dollar 1999 Error from Frans Woons, Canada
The other day I was able to buy on eBay a nice Bi-metallic 2 Dollar 1999 Nunavut error.

1999 Nunavut error toonies are not scarce.  However, the coin I bought deviates from the ‘normal’ 1999 Nunavut error toonies.
On the ‘normal’ 1999 Nunavut error toonies the extra plug material on the ring is almost without exception near the 7 o’clock position.

On my error coin it is near the 11 o’clock position.  The coin was struck slightly outside the collar and has a tiny gap near IN (of REGINA).
