Egyptian Bi-Metallic Coins, Varieties, Proof and Patterns
The First Egyptian Bi-metallic coin was introduced in 2005. The coin has a face value of one Egyptian pound ( 1 LE ) , it’s the  highest face value of Egyptians coins.
The coin is 8.5 gm Brass center (yellow) and Copper-nickel ring (white) KM # 940
There are 2 issues of the 2005 coin Magnetic and non-magnetic, the reason behind that it was struck mainly in 2 places the Royal mint house -England and the
EMA (Egyptian Mint authority) -Cairo very minor varieties can be seen due to different striking plates

The coin shows king tut on one side and value on the other side
Beside the 2005 there are have been the same coin with different dates 2007, 2008, 2010.
Note: 2009 is mention in the world coins but was not released.

In 2011 the Egyptian revolution took place and there was a fear from the government that forgeries might hit the market so a new design was considered

Pattern not issued

You will notice the changing mechanism at the value place where it says EMA with an angle and 1 in Arabic with a different angle.
A very lovely design unfortunately it was not issued due to high manufacturing cost.
Only in 2015 where they changed the king tut with a new design the opening of the new extension of the Suez Cannel

This is a basic introduction of Egyptian Bi-Metallic coins, would love to answer any question and clarify more if you need any extra information.
