6th January 2020 Martin Peeters Funeral - Frans Dubois - Netherlands
On Thursday January 7 I will visit the funeral of Martin.
Martin was, as we all know “the engine” of the WBCC.
He founded the WBCC and for almost 25 years he wrote the weekly Newsmail
He was well known at coin shows where he represented the WBCC.
I will bring flowers to the funeral together with a card with all your names in memory of Martin.
I also will bring the condolences from you all to his family.
Thank you all!

Martin Peeters Obituary,  from Frans Dubois, 4th January 2021.
Martin Peeters was born in 1951. From the age of nineteen he worked continuously for Shell Nederland in Moerdijk. After forty years of service, Martin stopped at Shell and from that moment decided to travel through Europe in a camper.
In 1995, Martin came into contact with Frans Dubois, co-collector of bimetal coins, through a coin magazine, Muntkoerier, and together in 1996 they set up a collectors' club that brought together collectors of bimetal coins via the Internet, the WBCC. The WBCC was present at major international and national fairs. Martin became a familiar face at these fairs and made the WBCC widely known.
Nearly 25 years he wrote the weekly Newsmail and he always said
“Not me but the members produce the Newsmail”
He considered himself the binding factor in the WBCC
A year and a half ago, the doctors diagnosed lung cancer. Martin remained optimistic about his recovery, but a few months ago his health deteriorated rapidly. Martin passed away on Tuesday December 29
With him, the club loses a committed and inspiring founder and member.
