2. Bi-metallic Isle Of Man and Gibraltar 2 Pound...by Martin Peeters
From Pobjoy England I received the following information about differences in the Isle Of Man and Gibraltar 2 Pounds:
In regards to the Isle Of Man Bi-metallic 2 Pound car coin, all coins without are of proof quality and all with die markings ("AA") are circulating coins. In regards to the Gibraltar Bi-metallic 2 Pound coin which has two different sizes of the queens head this was due to a change of dies during a production run.
3. Bi-metallic MTT from Canada........by Peter Riley,
Canada There is an article in Canadian Coin News, volume 37, number 5
(June29-July12.1999), written by Jerry Remick. It states:
--Quote The first Bi-metallic trade tokens were issued in Canada late this spring by Kerrobert, Saskatchewan and by Nanaimo, British Columbia as part of their "off-metal" tokens, which are sold at a premium above their face value of $5. The final mintage is only 100, 38mm Bi-metallic tokens for each municipality. The designs for the token for each municipality will be described in a future article. The 38mm Bi-metallic planchet or blank consists of a brass coloured core, 25mm in diameter, made of an alloy of copper, nickel, and aluminum. The outer silver coloured ring, 6-1/2 mm in width, consists of copper-nickel. The Bi-metallic blanks were made in Europe. They were imported by Eligi Consultants Inc., who designed and administered the making of the tokens for the two municipalities issuing them. --Unquote --Remark Orders should be placed by fax at +1-613-823-3844. VISA and MASTERCARD are accepted. Eligi Consultants Inc. PO Box 11447 Station H Nepean, Ontario. K2H 7V1. Canada
4. Bi-metallic 2 Dollar Canada 1996...by Martin Peeters, Netherlands
As it is known now, the Canada Bi-metallic 2 Dollar 1996 Proof in Ag*Au/Au has on the Queens side the following lettering in centre '22 K CENTRE CENTRE 22C'. On the other hand the Piedford issue of 1996 does not have this lettering. I wonder if WBCC members can check their collection (1997, 1998) about this matter and report it to me (email@example.com), thanks. BTW the mentioned piece is now offered (ends: 07/20/99, 18:15:54 PDT) in the Ebay pages: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=131278540, for "only" 265 US Dollars !! --Remark Paul Baker, WBCC Research Centre: Latest SCWC does not mention these words - I would have thought it would have been rather correct in all aspects of recent Canadian coins - since Canada is next to U.S.A. (where SCWC comes from). Weltmunzkatalog 1996/97 (Schön) does seem to mention something about these words being on the gold pieces. Also since there are the extra words on this piece it will perhaps be renumbered to KM-270.1 instead of KM-270a or even a totally new number

10. ANA World's Fair of Money®......by Larry Friemel, USA
Just a reminder that The ANA World's Fair of Money is being held in Chicago, Illinois on August 11-15, 1999 at the Rosemont Convention Center, 9301 West Bryn Mawr. I have arranged with the ANA to provide the WBCC a meeting place Saturday during the convention for anyone able to attend. It is no host -- so anyone making it there is on there own other than a room is available. The WBCC has been assigned room 9 in the convention center on Saturday, August 14 from 1:00 -2:30 p.m. I am unfamiliar with the area, but the AAA guide shows many hotels in the vicinity, as the convention center is near O'Hare Airport. For a listing of the scheduled events for the five days check out the ANA website at... http://www.money.org/annualcvnschchi.html For ANAs listing of hotels check out... http://www.money.org/cvnannualhotels.html The original survey about a year ago showed about 12 people interested in attending. I hope that they (and others) make it to share their Bi-metallic experiences. To the best of my knowledge, Cliff Anderson (WBCC Public Relation Centre, "(email@example.com) is attending and as such is the official WBCC board member in attendance.
11. WBCC CD ROM...by Joe Kocian, USA
I have the WBCC CD ROM completed. I will be adding a few current items but for all major purposes it is finished. Thanks to the assistance of Martin, and Larry and their contributions to the CD. I plan to have CD's for purchase in Chicago (ANA convention August 14th) but also through the mail for those who desire one that will not make the convention. Ok, the CD what is it? a. It is a compilation of the WBCC documentation of Bi-metallics coins with Graphics. b. The early Introduction and Use of Bi-metallics from Larry Friemel's "All That Is Bi-Metallic" webpage with graphics. c. It has the complete set of all WBCC Newsmails from beginning to current date. d. It has the catalog "The World Of Bi-metallics" on it. e. It has a super demo software program specifically designed for collectors. And it is all on one CD. Cost: This the best part, I made this for the WBCC members so cost is just to cover the expenses. By Mail: US$14.00 including shipping. At the Chicaco ANA show: US$12.00 I have received quite a number of requests for the CD. I am still going to send a personal note (application) to those that have notified me and requested a CD. However, I have been waiting to do it all at once.
