We have a new WBCC members. Let me introduce him to you:

2. Bi-metallic 5 Franc 2002 from Switzerland.by Martin Peeters,Netherlands

The Swiss Mint did issue on February 1st a new Bi-metallic 5 Franc 2002, and it commemorates 400 years Escalade de Geneve. The Fete de l'Esacalade always takes place in Geneva during the weekend nearest to December 12th. It commemorates the failied attempt by the Savoyards, 400 years ago, to take the city with the help of specials ladders. The Bi-metallic 5 Franc 2002 is issued as UNC, Proof in a presentation case and there is an Essai piece. The Bi-metallic was introduced at the World Money Fair at Basel.

3. Bi-metallic African info update - by Paul Baker, UK

I have recently added some new info to the African Coins sections of my website. The index for this section HERE. Some new bits about African Bi-metallics are to be found on the Algeria, Lesotho and Morocco pages - each of these can be accessed from the index page.

4. Holland Coin Fair..by Martin Peeters, Netherlands

Last weekend we the Holland Coin Fair in the Hague. Please notice this fair cannot be compared with the World Money Fair at Basel, the Holland Coin Fair is much smaller. The Royal Dutch Mint was present at the Holland Coin Fair and they offered (only 1 per person!!) the 2002 Euro Mint Set with a Bi-metallic medal. The set commemorates the Dutch Queen Beatrice. The set costs 16 Euro. A picture of the Bi-metallic 1 and 2 Euro 2002 and the Bi-metallic medal in the set can be seen in the WBCC Website: New Images
Notice: The 2002 (Bi-metallic) Euros will have the Mintmaster sign fruit-bearing vine tendril WITh star. With star means there is no official Minmaster at the Dutch Mint at the present time.

5. Bi-metallic Australia 5 Dollar 2002..by Martin Peeters, Netherlands
