2. World Money Fair Basel 2003 Pre-report (1) ... by Martin Peeters

In 5 weeks time the WBCC will attend, like last year, the World Money Fair 2003 in Basel, held from January 31 to February 2. This is the first pre-report about this event. The World Money Fair in Basel is the biggest of its kind in the world. At least 30 Minthouses will be present, and this year the Benelux countries (Begium, Netherland and Luxemburg) are the Guest of Honors with a special booth. The WBCC will attend for 3 days the WMF with four persons; Frans Dubois, Massimiliano Aiello, Hans Bucek and Martin Peeters. The WBCC will have its own booth which is sponsored by The Portuguese Mint and Schuler Presses. In Next weeks edition of the WBCC Newsmail more news about the World Money Fair.

3. WBCC Encasment Rod Sell, Australia

In the new images page you will see images of an Australian 1966 UNC 2 cent encased in a WBCC Ring. I have managed to obtain 20 UNC 1966 2 cent coins for encasing. The cost is US$7. They will only be encased against firm orders, so there may be less than 20 encased. If you wish one please email me: Rod Sell. The coins will be encased next week so i need your email now.

4. Bi-metallic from Russia ... by Michael Ayrapetov, USA

In "Commemorative and Investment Coins Issue Plan for 2003" of the Central Bank of Russian Federation I found 4 Bi-metallic Coins of series "Ancient Russian Towns":
* 54. Murom (Vladimir Region, IXth century) - October 2003
* 55. Dorogobush (Smolensk Region, XIth century) - October 2003
* 56. Kassimov (Ryazan Region, XIIth century) - October 2003
* 57. Pskov (Xth century) - February 2003
All 4 Coins will have denomination of 10-Rubles, Brass Ring and Cu-Ni Center, 5000000 Mintage of each type. The URL is: Russian Bi-metallics.
