1. Bi-metallic from Morocco..by Paul Baker, UK
Over about the last 6 months new 10 and 20 Santimat, 1/2, 1 and 2 Dirham coins have been issued in Morocco. Now, at last, a new Bi-metallic 5 Dirham dated 2002 / 1423, (featuring Mohamed VI on the obverse and a slightly revised design to the previous 5 Dirhams type on the reverse) has been released and can/could be seen for sale on eBay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2215163916 . Perhaps next we can expect a 10 Dirhams new type similar to that of 1995 / 1415.
 
2. Bi-metallic 2 Euro 2004 from Greece......by Jose Luis Ramirez, Spain
In the link http://www.muenzenmagazin.de/startseite0401/2_EUR-Gedenkmz.htm is an image of a new Bi-metallic 2 Euro 2004commemorate the Olympics.
 
3. Bi-metallic from Sudan..by wolfgang Schuster, Austria
As per the present director of the khartoum mint, Eng. Usama Ahmed Othman, they are now working on a Bi-metallic coin of 50 dinars and a Bi-metallic coin of 100 dinars. Of the latter a trial strike can be confirmed. For the first time, it will be a bilingual sudanese coin, with english inscription as well
 
4. World Money Fair Basel Pre-report (1) ... by Martin Peeters, WBCC Focal Point
In 3 weeks time the WBCC will attend, like last year, the World Money Fair 2004 in Basel, held from January 30 to February 1. This is the report about this event. The World Money Fair in Basel is the biggest of its kind in the world. At least 30 Minthouses will be present, and this year Germany is the Guest of Honors with a special booth. The WBCC will attend for 3 days the WMF with 7 persons; Frans Dubois, Eelco Soeteman, Massimiliano Aiello, Hans Bucek, Cliff Anderson and Martin Peeters. The WBCC will have its own booth (number 540) which is sponsored by The Portuguese Mint and Schuler Presses. Besides the Minthouses about 200 international dealers from all over the World wll be present. Several coinpapers, like World Coin News (KM), Muenzen-Revue have their own booth. Please notice: The weekend I'm at the Basel event, Jack Hepler (WBCC Developement Centre) will compose WBCC Newsmail 390. In next weeks WBCC Newsmail, you can read another report of the World Money Fair 2004. At last I invite all WBCC members in Europe (and outside Europe) to visit the WBCC booth 540 and shake hands and offcourse talk about Bi-metallics !!

If more than one member gets the question right, a random drawing will  be conducted to select a winner.
