The breadfruit tree is handsome, fast growing, and may reach 26 m (85 ft) in height. The tree bears a multitude of tiny flowers which develop into a fruit that may be oblong, cylindrical, ovoid, rounded or pear shaped, 9-45 cm (3 1/2 to 18 in) in length and 5-30 cm (2 to 12 in) in diameter.
