2. Bi-metallic 1 and 2 Manat 2010 from Turkmenistan....by Micheal Kaplan, USA (via Wolfgang Schuster)
I just received this week new info on Turkmenistan, will issue Bi-metallic 1 and 2 Manat on Jan.1st. 2010

The Bi-metallic 1 and 2 Manat coins are being minted at the British Royal Mint.

3. Bi-metallic 10 Rupee 2008 from India….......by Datta Dharmadhikari, India

Here is a scan of Bi-metallic 10 Rupee. coin issued by India in 2008.

The details of the Bi-metallic coin are as:

* Denomination: Rs.10

* Shape Circular, diameter 27 mm

* Weight: 7.71 grm.

* Metal composition: Outer ring: Aluminium Bronze)

* Copper: 92%, Aluminium: 6%, Nickel : 2%.

* Centre piece: (Coupro nickel) : Copper – 75%, Nickel – 25%

Presently this Bi-metallic is available in set alongwith Rs.100 coin made of silver. The set was issued to commemorate 300th centenary of Gur-Ta-Gaddi of Guru Granth Saheb.

 

4. Bi-metallic medal from South-Korea……by Allen Kwon, South-Korea
We need to add one more to list of Korean Bi-metallics. I had introduced a medal in coin set of Poongsan in article 3 of WBCC Newsmail #662. The Bi-metallic medal was issued at 2004. But, I found that other Poongsan Bi-metallic medal exists.

It is included in coin set to issued at 2002.

Reverse designs same with each other. But, obverse has logo of Poongsan Coperation.
Poongsan Coperation is famous for production of Coin Blanks of Euro. (comment) A Korean collector, Sunny provided me this images.

6. Bi-metallic Quiz Game #691........by Jack Hepler, USA

This week continues the quiz series called, "Whose Face". There are three faces on an Austrian Bi-metallic 50 Schilling dated 2000. Two of the faces are unknown.  Whose known face appears on this coin?

The correct answer to Bi-metallic Quiz Game question #689 is Queen Teuta.

WBCC Quiz Game Prize
A Bi-metallic prize will be awarded for the correct answer. If more than one member gets the correct answer, a random drawing will be conducted to select a winner.  The #689 Quiz Game winner is Tom Galway, WBCC member #68. There were seven players in this game; all had the correct answer.


7. The WBCC Bi-metallic Super Quiz 9......by Jack Hepler, USA

Peru issued two bimetallic coins, showing lines (birds) in the Nazca desert plain. What bird is on which coin and in which directions are the birds flying. The answer must use the eight point compass directions.

Bi-metallic One and Two Euro coins issued in all of the Euro issuing countries shows a map on the common side. Approximately one millimeter below the image of Spain, three dots may be seen.  What do these three dots represent?
The correct answer is "The Canary Islands", a possession of Spain
