2. Argentine Bi-metallic Medal 2010...by Carlos Mayer, Argentina

This weekend in Buenos Aires, Argentina, we had our national numismatic congress, XXX Jornadas Nacionales de Numismatica y Medallitica and we made a commemorative medal, this time a bi-metallic one. You can see the images, the diameter is 59 mm and the weight is 69.8 grams.  http://wbcc-online.com


3. Bi-metallic Jordan 2009…Dr. Wolfgang Schuster, Austria

The Jordan Bi-metallic Half Dinar issue of 2009, not previously listed in The World of Bi-metallics, show the same obverse design as previous issues.


4. Bi-metallics of Kazakhstan…by Antonio Barrena Mateo, Spain

The National Bank of Kazakhstan has put into circulation 500 Tenge coins from "Space" series dedicated to Lunokhod - 1. Coins are issued in circulation on August 5th 2010.

Source of information: The National bank of Kazakhstan www.nationalbank.kz

Face value: 500 Tenge Mintage: 4000 pcs.

Quality: proof bimetal - silver 0.925 14.6 g. and tantalum 26.8 g.

Diameter 38.61 mm; weight 41 gram

The other coins in the series are:  “Space”, “The First Space Satellite of the Earth”, “Vostok”, and “Soyuz-Apollo”.


5. Bi-metallic Patterns of Greenland…by Dr. Wolfgang Schuster, Austria

Ed:  This image was taken from a picture of a set of Greenland pattern coins.

6.  Bi-metallic Coin of India Offered…by Murali Kumar, India

The Bi-metallic commemorative 10 Rupees is being offered by Murali Kumar of India.  This commemorative is in a credit card type pack.  Interested members should contact Murali directly.

This week continues the quiz series called, "Whose Face".

In the year 2000, two commemorative Bi-metallic 50 Schilling coins were issued by Austria.  One shows the face of Dr. Sigmund Freud.  Whose face appears on the other Bi-metallic 50 Schilling coin of Austria dated 2000?

WBCC Quiz Game Prize

A Bi-metallic prize will be awarded for the correct answer. If more than one member gets the correct answer, a random drawing will be conducted to select a winner.  The Quiz Game #730 prize winner was Keith Beaumont WBCC member #168.  There were eight players.


8. WBCC Super Quiz #18...by Jack Hepler, USA

Historical events and anniversaries are often displayed on coins. A very important historical event for one country was honored by another country on a Bi-metallic coin.  This event took place over 200 years ago near geographical coordinates 6 degrees, 30 minutes West, 36 degrees, 30 minutes North.  Name the coin, country that issued the coin and event.  (Please read the question and answer completely)
