1. Bi-metallic 2 Pound 2011 from the UK, Max Aiello, Italy
Received from UK Mint the following information about the new Bi-metallic 2 Pounds 2012 commemorating Charles Dickens:
The Bi-metallic £2 coin marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens and boasts a remarkable and inventive reverse design by Matthew Dent.
A profile outline, immediately recognisable as Dickens has been painstakingly created from the titles of Dickens’ famous works – from his early writings,
Sketches by Boz, to his final and unfinished novel the Mystery of Edwin Drood. Taken from Dickens’ own favourite story, David Copperfield, the words chosen for the edge inscription are those of the lovable and always hopeful Mr Micawber: SOMETHING WILL TURN UP. The obverse features the familiar portrait of
The Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS.
