5. Bi-metallic Quiz Game #856….…by Jack Hepler, USA
Thailand has produced over 60 different designs of the Bi-metallic 10 Baht coin. For the next issues of the Quiz Game, I will be crafting questions about these coins.
The Bi-metallic 10 Baht issues of Thailand since 1988 are varied and beautiful. The first of the series was issued and intended for circulation. On the reverse of the first issue is the image of The Temple of the Dawn, a wonderful example of Ceylonese style Buddhist architecture. As one approaches the temple, it appears to flash and sparkle as a jewel in the sunlight. What is imbedded in the walls of this temple that produces the appearance of precious stones? See this coin and others at the WBCC website: http://wbcc-online.com Please send your answer to: firstname.lastname@example.orgWBCC Quiz Game Prize
A Bi-metallic prize will be awarded for the correct answer. If more than one member gets the correct answer, a random drawing will be conducted to select a winner.
Answer to Bi-metallic Quiz Game question #855
Finland issued a Bi-metallic commemorative 25 Markkaa coin in 2001 for the Nordic Ski Championships. On the reverse side is shown a woman’s torso. The legend contains the date and the city, Lahti. What is the other part of the legend and what is the English translation?
The answer to Quiz Question #855 is HIIHDON MM, which stands for FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. This is the answer provided by the Finnish Mint though it is not clear if this is an acronym.
The Quiz Game #854 prize winner was Aldric Font, WBCC member #550. There were seven players.6. Super Quiz #30…………by Jack Hepler, USA
