1. Tri-metallic medal from Mexico.........by Jorge Madonna, Argentina
Here a picture of a Tri-metallic medal from Mexico.
Front: Core: reproduction of the front of the piece of 8 escudos, 1813,
Outer Ring: in upper arch “BICENTENARIO DE LA PRIMERA MONEDA PATRIA” and lower arch separately
by two diamonds, "1813 - 2013"; Inner ring: arched top, "CNBA - FENYMA - AANM" and lower arch,
separated by two figures, "BNA - BPBA - SECDM".
Reverse: Core: reverse reproduction of the piece of 8 escudos, 1813, Outer Ring:
“HOMENAJE DE LOS NUMISMÁTICOS Y ENTIDADES ARGENTINAS” in exergue, vegetative ornament,
Inner ring: arched top, “A LA ASAMBLEA DEL AÑO XIII” and lower arch separately by two points,
“Y A MANUEL BELGRANO”..
Module: 65 mm. Weight: 88.3 g.
Metal: Core: brass (70% Cu, 30% Zn)
Inner ring: copper (98% Cu, 2% impurities)
Outer ring: alpaca (77% Cu, 18% Ni, 5% Zn).
Quantity minted: 140 units
Engraver: American Medals (in core monogram on front).
The medal commemorates the first Republican coins and those who made it possible:
the Assembly of Year XIII who created them, and Manuel Belgrano,
whose triumphs in the North allowed the release of Upper Peru and occupation the Potosi Mint.
The metals chosen to symbolize gold, copper and silver, the first metals used in Argentine coinage in the nineteenth century.
The initials on the front of the inner ring belong to institutions joined to mint the medal: Centro Numismatico de Buenos Aires,
Federación de entidades de Numismática y Medallística Argentinas, Academia Argentina de Numismática y Medallística,
the Banco de la Nacion Argentina, and the Sociedad del Estado y Casa de Moneda.
It was filed on the bicentenary of the first coins homelands, on April 13, 2013

UK has issued a new Bi-metallic 2 Pound 2013 from the UK, coin on Anniversary of Guinea was a gold coin minted between 1663 to 1813.
Guinea was a gold coin minted between 1663 to 1813. It was first gold coin minted in Tower of London.
The name comes from African country which was source of the gold. It commems 350 years of first minting ( and 200 years of last minting ?)
3. Bi-metallic 2 Euro 2013 from Monaco.......by Max Aiello, Italy
About the new Bi-metallic 2 Euro 2013 from Monaco, they announced the issue on December 1st,
but the coin has been issued last June 17th and it is in commercefor an ast ronomic price, as usual for a Monaco coin.

The second edition of encased coins commemorating the American Civil War has been released by the Rappahannock Area Coin Club
Featured are the battles at Chancellorsville, Brandy Station and Salem Church. Chancellorsviille is noted for the famous "Flank Attack"
by General Stonewall Jackson when his greatly outnumbered soldiers surprised and completely routed the Union forces.
Brandy Station is noted for the largest cavalry battle in the nation's history.

To help players this suggestion is offered:
