1. WBCC at the World Money Fair in Berlin.......by Jack Hepler, WBCC Development Centre
Bi-metallic Coin Award 2014 at the World Money Fair
The World Money Fair, now over 40 years old was the visionary creation of Mr. Albert Beck.  Krause Publications has become an
integral part of the Fair and showcases outstanding achievements in coin design through the Coin of the Year awards, COTY.
This year, Bi-metallic coins became one of the ten major categories for the COTY, with Finland’s Bi-metallic 50 Euro-Helsinki World Design Capital coin voted the winner.  Though modern Bi-metallic coins have been appearing in the pockets of peoples worldwide for
over 20 years, by creating a special category Bi-metallic coins have been elevated beyond the novelty it is considered to be by some collectors.  World governments and the coin production industry have recognized the value of this method of minting.
Krause Publications is to be congratulated for taking this bold step in recognizing, in this manner, the importance of Bi-metallic
coins in the World of Numismatics.

9. Bi-metallic Quiz Game #915….…by Jack Hepler, USA
Standing 1.1m (42”) at shoulder and weighing 100 kg (200 – 220lbs), this is the greatest of all the goats. In addition to the prominent horns, which can reach up to 1.6 metres, the stocky male has a black beard and a shaggy mane of long hair that hangs down from
the neck. For hunters, the Markhor is classed as the most difficult of all trophies, mainly due to the dangerous and unforgiving terrain
in which they reside.
In 1991, the USSR issued a Bi-metallic coin that shows what appears to be a Markhor mountain goat.
What is the value shown on this coin?
