They do not have bimetallic coins as yet. They are completely surrounded by countries having bimetallic coins. Name at least 2 of these non-bimetallic countries. Answer Super Quiz 34 Austria has issued a series of Bi-metallic 25 Euro coins with a core of Niobium. Niobium metal exhibits a rather novel characteristic that allows oxidation in predictable colors. Austria has utilized this characteristic to produce colored Euro coins since 2003. There have been three issues using the same color. Name the color and the years of issue. This question was fraught with controversy since the very popular Austrian color of blue was used in various shades and hues from light blue to a turquoise color. In fact, the most recent coin issued in 2014 is colored blue and green. As a result, all contestants were given credit for this question. The winner was Thierry Defaix as randomly selected.
