The production Method.
The surface of the copper strip is
marked (1) so that the maximum number of rings can be cut. The
inner hole (2) is then cut followed by the outer
ring (3). The euro coin is then fitted into the ring shown on
the right and stamped. The pressure of the stamping expands the ring
to make a very tight fit. The remaining copper strip with holes
is known as sisal.
A kit (image below) consisting of a
copper strip with 2 large holes, a copper ring struck with WBCC dies
and a small copper centre is available with a purchase of an encased
Euro set.
